LEADERS IN PERFORMANCE

The concept of Leaders in Performance was first developed after the inaugural Leaders in Football in 2008. Following a series of consultations with key stakeholders that attended, it was identified that several performance-related themes could be developed further for future conferences. By bringing together the key people involved in achieving sporting excellence – elite coaches, managers, sporting directors, technical directors, performance directors – Leaders in Performance was created.

Leaders in Performance was officially launched on the 8th October 2009. Bringing together 200+ senior international sports practitioners from the world of football, rugby, cricket, tennis, Olympic sports, US sports, and many more, this 1 day conference was themed around the major factors for sporting success. Presentations and panels covered ‘winning mentalities’, athlete development, talent identification, mental and physical conditioning, sports science, sports nutrition, and analysis of elite performance. The conference also included 2 specific master-class sessions focussing on strength & conditioning and sports medicine.
