Cycling’s fastest man Mark Cavendish races to Leaders in Performance

Mark Cavendish, the highly accomplished professional cyclist and Britain’s first green jersey winner at the 2011 Tour de France, is the latest speaker to confirm for Leaders in Performance conference at Chelsea FC on 5th and 6th October 2011.

Mark Cavendish has been described as the fastest sprinter in the world with gold medals at the 2005 and 2008 World Championships, as well as the 2006 Commonwealth Games riding for the Isle of Man. As a road cyclist he achieved eleven wins in his first professional season, equalling the record held by Alessandro Petacchi. Cavendish has won a total 20 Tour de France stages putting him 6th on the all-time list, alongside Nicolas Frantz and claimed the coveted green jersey in the 2011 edition after winning the final sprint down the Champs Elysees. Mark will provide a fascinating insight into the mindset of the professional athlete, what the motivations are, how to handle pressure, how to overcome failure and how to keep winning.
